Seleção World Cup Kit Concept

Rumor has it Brazil might debut a red away kit at the 2026 World Cup. 👀🇧🇷

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but the online chatter is loud, and understandably so. Without diving into the politics around the Seleção jersey (which are very real), the idea of such a bold shift has sparked major reactions.

As someone whose family has Brazil kits from the 1970s, I’ve always seen the Seleção kit as untouchable. The Seleção’s identity is deeply woven into its look, and from a brand perspective, it's iconic. Think Nike, Coca-Cola-level brand recognition. Why mess with that?

But this rumor cracked something open in my designer brain. I’d never considered redesigning the Seleção kit before. It felt like a sacred object, creatively off-limits. And yet . . . what if there was a way to introduce something new, the red, that still honored tradition?

Enter: the Scarlet Macaw.

Native to the Amazon, this bird is a natural blend of red, yellow, blue, and green, all core to Brazil’s identity. Using its feathers as inspiration, I created an ombré diamond pattern that blends red into the traditional palette. The result: a primarily blue away kit with red accents: a respectful evolution, not a radical departure.

I also created a home kit using the same feather motif, but simplified to stay closer to Seleção tradition.

Disclaimer: This is just for fun. I love Brazil, the Seleção, and the World Cup with my whole heart.
